Intro:
U.T. in Austin’s got the eyes, but here’s the deal today,
At Texas State, we’ve got the legs, and they’re workin’ all the way.
You can talk about Longhorn pride and all those orange ties,
But down in San Marcos, it’s the legs that mesmerize!

Verse 1:
The legs of Texas State, they’re built to climb,
Up those San Marcos hills, every single time.
Forget the gym, they’ve got that natural way,
To tone those calves while walkin’ to class every day.
They’ve carried backpacks full of books and fun,
While strutting uphill, like they’re on a beer run.
It’s not just the river that makes them so great,
It’s the legs of the girls from Texas State!

Chorus:
The legs of Texas State, they’re strong and true,
They’ve seen more hills than most folks do.
It’s gotta be the water, or maybe the breeze,
But those legs can climb like they’re born to please.
From the classroom to the river, they look great,
Oh, there’s nothing like the legs of Texas State!

Verse 2:
They could kickstart a tractor or run a marathon,
Walk to the top, while the rest of us yawn.
Forget Everest, they’ve conquered that hill,
With legs like steel, and a whole lot of will.
They make floating down the river look like a breeze,
But those calves are working hard, honey, if you please.
You know they’ve earned it, looking great and Strait,
Those legs of the girls from Texas State!

Bridge:
They’ve got that “San Marcos Stairmaster” down,
Climbing uphill in heels all over town.
You can spot ’em by the calves, so lean and tight,
They’ve conquered those hills, with all their might.

Verse 3:
With legs like that, they don’t need a gym pass,
Just a steep walk to their class.
They might float the river, or dance all night,
But their legs are steady, holding on tight.
Kickin’ doors, lassoing dreams, they never hesitate,
The girls, they’ve got the legs of Texas State!

Chorus:
The legs of Texas State, they’re strong and true,
They’ve seen more hills than most goats do.
It’s gotta be the water, or maybe the breeze,
But those legs can climb like they’re born to please.
From the classroom to the river, they look great,
Oh, there’s nothing like the legs of Texas State!

Outro:
So here’s to those girls with the legs so fine,
Climbing those hills, time after time.
They’ve got the strength, they’ve got the grace,
The legs of Texas State—they’re in a whole other place!

The Legs of Texas State

by Alan Nafzger, 1991

In the hills of San Marcos, where the river runs free,
There’s a secret that Longhorns don’t often see.
They’ve got their eyes, up there in the north,
But down here, it’s the legs that stride forth.

UT’s eyes may watch from their tower of pride,
But it’s the legs of Texas State that take the ride.
Up those hills, with each step we ascend,
It’s not just the journey; it’s how you begin and end.

Austin may stare, with its gaze from afar,
But here, we know what the true treasures are.
For while they watch and their eyes grow tired,
We climb and we conquer, with legs never mired.

The calves of the Bobcats, they’re stronger each day,
They push through the steepest, come what may.
It’s the water, the hills, the climb and the strain,
That forges our path, with no need to explain.

A man has his priorities, and we know it’s true,
While the eyes of Texas gaze at the view,
It’s the legs of Texas State that carry the load,
Up every hill, down every winding road.

So here’s to the legs, the pride we hold tight,
In San Marcos, they carry us day and night.
UT can keep their eyes, as they look and wait,
But we stand proud, on the legs of Texas State.
